She has exhibited in Amsterdam and Paris, but doing so in Bovenkarspel feels particularly nerve-wracking. Still, it was time to take the plunge, so photographer Monique Belier is showcasing her work this weekend at the Meisjesschool.
After taking it a bit easier for a few weeks, it's time for new things again.
On the weekend of January 31st, I’ll be exhibiting for the very first time in my own village—the place where I grew up and where I still live.
As I sat at home recovering from a cold, it seemed like a whirlwind of photography events was happening all around. It feels as though everything always gets packed into the first three months of the new season.

MONOCHROME PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2024
Very happy to announce that my submission is rewarded with an Honorable Mention in the Professional Conceptual Category from the Monochrome Photography Awards (international Black & White Photography Contest.
I couldn't be prouder to discover that my book made it to Robin Titchener's Best Photo Books of 2023 list. These lists are published annually on the Photobook Store UK website. I couldn't have asked for a better end to the year.

The past month has been a true rollercoaster of art, travel, and new encounters. My adventure began in Bratislava, where I participated in the Off Bratislava Photofestival. My book was selected for Off Libris and presented there, which was an honor!

GUP FRESH EYES INTERNATIONAL TALENT OF 2023
I got selected for FRESH EYES 2023 International talent by GUP and that means you got featured in one of the books and being part of a group exhibition in Amsterdam.
Being published among a select group of photographers from different corners of the globe was a true honor.
Save the date because I have got some good news! My book ‘Where the Spirit Meets the Bone’ is out of print and, to my delight, has been sold all over the world, from Singapore to Canada and from France to the United States. That is why a second edition

Inmiddels ben ik een paar weken afgestudeerd van de Fotoacademie in Amsterdam. Het is nog steeds een beetje onwennig, maar ik ben ook heel blij met alle nieuwe dingen die op mijn pad komen.
Just before I graduated from the Photo Academy I had this beautiful, large publication in the Dansdocent.nu Magazine!
On May 24th, I hope to graduate along with 32 other students from the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam. On the day of the exam, our work will be viewed by a committee of professionals in the field, at the baggage hall of Loods 6.
On the 9th of februari I got an email of the Mauritshuis in Den Haag.
